The Haunted Hotel Ch 1

It was a beautiful summer day outside. My mom and I were driving in the car on our way to our destination. The air conditioner was on high since outside was like a heat wave. There were plenty of cold drinks inside the car and our stuff was piled in the back seat. We were going to stay at this place for summer vacation. I had just gotten finished twelfth grade and I will be in a community college next year for two years. I had known we were staying somewhere, although the place remained a surprise. My mom had not told me where we were going just so I would be surprised. Some surprise. “Mom, I hope we have a normal vacation at this place.” I said, “Unlike last year.” “It will be exciting Lauren.” Mom said, “Just think, free dinner for three days a week, plus a swimming pool! Won’t that be fun?” “Yeah, I just hope it’s interesting.” I said. “Hey, stop complaining and look on the bright side.” Mom said. I just rolled my eyes and tuned everything out by listening to music.  Anyway, just a short time later, we arrived at the place. It was a dark hotel with lots of spirits floating about. They appeared to be ghosts. One good look at this hotel and I knew exactly that I was not going to enjoy my vacation here!
